ASK FOR HELP ! It could be something very simple and easily remedied. HELP IS AVAILABLE Teachers can give advice on various different approaches or interventions that could help. Every school has a 'SENCO' (Special Educational Needs Coordinator) The SENCO is also a teacher but has the added responsibility of managing the necessary provision for children who need additional resources or support. The SENCO will liaise with parents, class teachers, Head Teacher, and other specialists in order to provide the necessary assessments and programme of support. Of course, they are also there to reassure and put anxious minds at rest. After all, children learn at very different rates, some are ready much earlier than others. You may feel frustrated or feel that you have failed in some way DON'T ! You are not alone. ASK ! |
